Hey guys got a set of GQ patrol diffs in my Hilux that are converted to leaf, having a few dramas sorting out a good steering solution though so any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

Here a some pics of it as it sits now

basically what im aiming at is doing a high steer set up, when the diffs where in my mates truck he just ran the steering arm under the leaf like i have show in the bottom picture, i just dont know if that’s the best way to do it though.

Ideally id like to get that steering arm above the leaf and out of the way just like it is done when a high steer conversion is done when you have Hilux diffs. Does anyone have ideas on how I could do this or a better solution ?

Hey there Mate,
the hilux Hi steer mounts to the top of the knuckle, like in the pic shown. This is why you can run the steering shaft over the top of the springs. The Patrol steering is part of the caseing of the knuckle, and unless you make simiular mounts like the hilux you wont be able to do this of the Patrol knuckles. the best option would be to make a stepped steering arm in the same shape as the second pic. This will go under the springs but still stay way from the rocks you normally bend the steering arms on.

Hey that looks like the exact kind of setup I need to run, got my ifs box and all that all ready.

Just wondering though in this picture you got that raised arm that gets your steering arm over the leaf just like I want, where can I get one of these ? and will it just bolt up to my GQ knuckle ??
